WHOA...now tell me what you really think.
- Top GOP journalist, Peggy Noonan, and GOP strategist, Mike Murphy, caught on live microphone: "It's over...political bullshit...gimmicky."
- Mike Murphy tells Chuck Todd, on the record: "I love John McCain to death, but this is the stupidest thing in the world."
- Who is Levi Johnston, and what does he have to say? On his MySpace page, he writes
- "I'm a f - - -in' redneck . . . I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s- - - and just f - - -in' chillin' I guess...Ya f - - - with me I'll kick [your] ass." And here's the kicker: "I don't want kids." (Isn't anyone going to say that this is technically a prosecutable crime (date rape) since she's 17 and he's 18?)
- Pulling a Cheney: Palin is refusing to testify in the Troopergate scandal, and also and trying to run out the clock. She IS a Republican, all right!
- Palin stumps for the Bridge to Nowhere, with pics!
- Palin was on McCain's anti-earmark shameful "pork" list.
- Fairbanks, Alaska--Republican mayor endorses Obama
- DNC viewership higher than RNC
- Early reactions, a la the Gallup poll, make it appear that since Palin pick, Repub women are going to McCain, but independent and Dem women are going to Obama--which means that McCain's strategy is not, at least initially, succeeding.
- Both history and actuarial tables show why this vp choice matters. Nearly 1 in 3 vice presidents have ascended to the presidency, 9 without being elected; there is a 1 in 3 chance that McCain won't live until he's 80.
- Only 36 black delegates at RNC, at a 40 year low (1.5% of total delegates)
- National Enquirer following a story now that Palin had an affair with her husband's business partner. McCain camp is denying it...but then, so did Edwards.
- Another Palin firing scandal?
- And some kind of scandal in relation to a big dairy operation?
